Ulrich M. Kipper presents results of first 6 month of multibiometrics used for payment

Since december 2010 it-werke operates the first multimodal biometric payment system worldwide.

Hybrid or multimodal biometrics uses a combination of fingerprint and fingervein recognition for authorisation of payment transactions. Formaly those are based on the newest european standard for payments: SEPA. A national limitation for transactions is no longer given.

During the first 6 months of operation, the VINGADO System handled over 150.000 payments. Ulrich Kipper will report about acceptance, speed, system behavior and vision.
